FAQ's
  • MLS Laser Therapy does not require the use of drugs or surgery, there are no known side effects, and it is quick and convenient. According to studies performed by top academic institutions, such as Harvard University, laser therapy is equal to or more effective than other forms of therapy.

  • No, MLS Class IV Laser Treatment is not the same as red light therapy.

Red Light Therapy and MLS Laser Therapy both use light to help the body heal, but they are very different in how deep they go and what they are used for.

Red Light Therapy is a gentle type of light that stays on the surface of the body. It only goes as deep as about 10 sheets of paper. That means it only helps the skin. It gives skin cells more energy to heal, which can help with things like small cuts, sore or red skin, and making skin look younger. Some people also use it to help with hair growth. Red Light Therapy is not strong enough to help with deeper problems like muscle or joint pain.

MLS Class IV Laser Therapy is much stronger and goes much deeper—about the depth of a golf tee (up to 4–5 cm). It uses two special types of light at the same time to help reduce swelling and pain, and to help the body heal deep inside. MLS Laser Therapy can help with muscle pain, joint pain, tendon or ligament injuries, nerve pain, and healing after surgery. It is made to treat deeper tissues, not just the skin.

In short, Red Light Therapy is gentle and only for the surface (skin), while MLS Laser Therapy is stronger and reaches deep into the body to help with bigger problems.

  • No, laser therapy does not hurt. There is little or no sensation during treatment.

  • The length of a typical treatment session is 10 to 15 minutes. However, it depends on the size of the area being treated. Treatments are usually received 2 to 3 times a week. Treatment plans are determined on an individual basis.

  • The number of treatments depends on the nature of the condition being treated. The typical course of treatment takes between 6 to 12 visits.

  • You may feel improvement to your condition after 1 to 3 treatments. For some more chronic conditions, it may take up to 6 visits to feel the benefits of laser therapy. Not everyone responds to laser therapy in the same way.

  • MLS Laser Therapy is about healing. With MLS Laser Therapy, we are not masking or covering up a condition, but rather, treating the root of your pain and inflammation. Because of this, many patients have seen long-term results.

  • Yes, MLS Laser Therapy is sometimes more effective when combined with other forms of therapy, including physical therapy, chiropractic, massage, soft tissue mobilization, electrotherapy, and following surgery.
